This post is the first part of the Joulutähti Knit-Along. In this knit-along, we will knit long Fair Isle socks, and the pattern will be published step by step as a free knitting pattern here on the SullaVikat blog as well as in the SukkaSirkus Facebook group.
You can join the knit-along on the starting day or jump in later and follow the pattern at your own pace.

You will need
Needles: 2.5–3.0 mm(You may use needles 0.5 mm smaller for the ribbing, if desired.)
Yarn: Approx. 100 g / 250 m
Main color: light / white in the charts, 120–130 g
Contrast color: red in the charts, 80–90 g
Gauge: 28 stitches and 30 rows per 10 cm
(Yarn amounts are approximate. Yarn consumption depends on factors such as personal knitting tension and yarn brand.)
You may also use a thinner or thicker yarn if it better suits your knitting style. With the pattern gauge, the socks will have a relaxed fit and correspond approximately to EU size 38–39, resulting in long Fair Isle socks.
